Da Nang has a long sandy beach at My Khe and a lively riverfront, where the Dragon Bridge breathes fire and water at weekends. The Marble Mountains, with their caves and pagodas, are just south of the city.

The old trading town of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site lit by lanterns at night, is about 45 minutes away, and the imperial city of Hue is a scenic drive over the Hai Van Pass.
